Toothbrush with the most tightly implanted tapered bristles

OWR certifies that on 2017, Linko Innovation Co., Ltd. (Chief Executive Officer KO, CHEOL JOO) has developed in Korea the toothbrush with the most tightly implanted tapered bristles.

This is an Official World Record for a new and special toothbrush.

Linko Innovation Co., Ltd. (Chief Executive Officer KO, CHEOL JOO) has developed a toothbrush whose tapered bristle’s bottom part and upper part is 0.12 mm and less than 0.01 mm thick, respectively. This toothbrush also has 8,801 tapered bristles that are 11 mm long, which were implanted in a 12.35 × 27.50 mm brush head using thermal fusion to achieve soft brushing effect and to ensure thorough cleansing of teeth. The product, named “LINKO SOOOFT” brush, is distributing and selling it in department stores and duty-free shops.

Linko Innovation Co., Ltd.’s (CEO KO, CHEOL JOO) “LINKO SOOOFT” Toothbrush has tapered bristles that are 11 mm long and microprocessed filaments that are 0.12 mm thick, which are tightly implanted into bundles.

The tapered bristles have been processed to be 0.12 mm thick on the bottom part and less than 0.01 mm thick on the upper part. These were implanted into the head plate and affixed through thermal fusion.

Eight thousand eight hundred one very thin tapered bristles have been implanted in a 12.35 × 27.50 mm brush head for a simultaneous soft brushing and cleaning effect.

“To modern people, who have a life span of about 100 years, toothbrushes are more than just tools to cleanse the teeth and should be able to preserve for a long time one’s permanent teeth, which one can only have once in a lifetime. Thus, I wanted to develop a soft toothbrush that neither wears down the teeth nor irritates the gum while cleansing the teeth well,” said CEO KO, CHEOL JOO of Linko Innovation. “Thus, I thought of developing such toothbrush by developing a technology for manufacturing very thin tapered bristles in tight bundles, and implanting them into the head plate and affixing them using thermal fusion. Through this, I was able to minimize the thickness of the tapered bristles so that we can implant them as well as produce diverse bundle sizes and shapes,” he said about the background of the toothbrush’s development.

“Toothbrushes usually have about 1,000–3,000 tapered bristles. However, with a total of 8,801 tapered bristles, this toothbrush has about 3–8 more thin tapered bristles, which are tightly implanted. It is, therefore, a new-concept and a new-level toothbrush that gently yet meticulously brushes the teeth. The technology of implanting 8,801 tapered bristles into a small brush head that is 12.35 mm wide and 27.50 mm long is amazing. It also means that 8,801 tapered bristles brush the teeth, which is also great. If one were to connect all the 8,801 tapered bristles, which are 11 mm long, they would have a total length of more than 100 m. This means that brushing once is brushing more than 100 m, which is interesting to think about,” said the people around KO, CHEOL JOO about the toothbrush.
