The biggest truck in the world

The biggest truck in the world

It is the BelAZ 75710, it is a mining truck 20 meters long, 10 wide and 8 high, with a weight of 360 tons and capacity to transport up to 450 tons, thanks to which it is the most immense truck on the planet.

This truck was manufactured by the Belarusian company BelAZ, with the aim that, in addition to being the largest in the world, it was also equipped with the best technology.

The BelAZ 75710 is designed to work in large mining complexes, since its large dimensions prevent it from driving on conventional roads. It is trained to do the work of five trucks in less time, making it also perfect for other engineering or construction tasks that require the transport of materials.

Although it seems incredible given its characteristics, the operation of this truck is possible thanks to four electrical mechanics from Siemens with 1.2000 kW of power each, which give this truck up to 6,500 horsepower.

In addition, the traction is coupled to two 16-cylinder V diesel engines, supercharged by a turbocharger and equipped with an intercooler.

Each one has a displacement of 65,000 cubic centimeters, which translates into 2,300 CV of power, for which they need 400 liters of diesel per hour to function.

In other words, the largest truck in the world has been created from an electric vehicle, so we can already say, as we already saw in an article dedicated to it, that electric trucks are increasingly a fact

The BelAZ 75710’s electric powertrain puts a dynamic traction distribution system within reach of the driver, allowing the power received by each axle to be adapted in real time.

On the other hand, the cooling system has a capacity of 890 liters, while the lubrication system has a capacity of 269 liters of oil for each engine.

Its traction and direction is hydraulic to all four wheels and its turning radius is 20 meters.

The suspension is independent for the front and rear tires, with four hydro-pneumatic cylinder units with a volume of 125.8 liters each, two located on the front axle and two on the rear. In addition, for its braking system, it has double oil-cooled discs, with triple calipers on each of them.

This impressive truck carries 8 Michelin 59/80 R63 tires, specifically designed for the BelAZ 75710, which are also the largest wheels in the world.

They have a diameter of 4 meters and a width of 1.5 meters. Each tire weighs more than 5,000 kilos, which can support up to 104 tons.

In this video, you will be able to see the BelAZ 75710 in all its splendor, in addition to checking its impressive dimensions compared to buildings, people …

Of course, despite its impressive measurements, the BelAZ 75710 has a maximum speed of only 64km / h, although it is prepared to climb at full load slopes of up to 18% of unevenness.

On the other hand, the manufacturer of the largest truck in the world ensures that its performance is 25% higher than that of the largest tippers available, which reduces the cost per ton of material transported.
