September 2009 25hrs 10min Official world record (dive time 27 hrs ) On September 19th, 2009, after many hours of training and planning, I finally entered the water at 8.00am to begin my attempt at breaking the standing record for the longest warm open water sea dive. In order to break the previous record, I needed to be at a depth of no less than 10m and could not surface for any reason during the dive, unless of course if the dive was aborted. Apart from the obvious stress of spending time in the open sea conditions, other important obstacles needed to be overcome. A number of these include eating, drinking, going to the toilet, as well as coping with the water temperature both during day and night. Although this only varied by a few degrees the change in temperature was nonetheless incredibly noticed. On Sunday 20th September, 25 hours…

A man from Cunningham (Tennessee) set up a new world record on a pocketbike. Will Rodgers, tells us his story! A ride plan was developed. Including a path of low speed limit and as little commercial traffic as possible. Using a stock, Honda XR50 2002. The Natchez Trace Parkway was an obvious choice as no commercial traffic is allowed, the speed limit is mostly a maximum of 45 miles per hour so going slow would not be an issue. Since the Natchez Trace Parkway is not long enough to break the record on alone, we started in Clarksville, Tennessee and traveled mostly back roads until we got to the Natchez Trace Parkway. Once the path was set we developed a schedule along with the dates of March 1st through March 4th, 2014 so people could join us if they wanted. We then obtained a chase vehicle to run a camera…

Writing messages on continuous rolls of paper supplied by James Cropper Paper, the letter will measure a huge 4800 metres long. images For anyone that has opened a telephone bill or bank statement and wondered if it would ever end, they haven’t seen anything on the scale of the letter being written right now in the north of England. School children in Kendal, Cumbria – nestling in the picturesque Lake District – have come together to write what will be the longest letter ever written. National Stationery Week has taken place every year for the past three years as a way of reminding people about the value of writing by hand…

Mark’s temperato drum kit weighs two and a half tons and includes 813 individually assembled parts that the Lakeville, NY, resident can get to without taking a step. That’s a world record, according to the folks at OWR, who know about such things. Temperato, who goes by the name RevM, says he stores the kit – which took him 20 years to complete – at Lakeville’s Breath of Worship Church. The 56-year-old temperate works there. He also plays his massive game there. “I use it to worship God,” he told WTEN in 2011. “We love to get the word of God in a very different way.” At the time, the kit boasted a…
